The chocolate war
The title of the book is "the chocolate war " and the book was written by the athour named Robert Cormier.
The bok is About a guy named Jerry Renault who just started high school at the famous school Trinity high.
The thing about Jerry Renault is that he refuses to sell chocolate at the yearly Chocolate sale trinity high has every year and that makes him an enemy to the secret non-official school society at trinity high called "the Vigils".
First many people thought it was just an assignment he got from The vigils but as the weeks passed and Jerry still refused to sell chocolate, more and more people started to doubt if it really was the vigils or if Jerry Renault really had gone into an all out war agenst the secret society.
What is going to happen to Jerry when he recives the letter, the war cry from the vigils.
A letter that says: do you dare defy universe?
The book is a Thriller-drama with a hidden message that reminds people that they dont always have to go with the flo. they have to make their own decisions and they have to make their own path in life. You can follow others too, but only if you do it for your own sake and not for others.
I like all the characters in the book. especially Jerry and Archie because they are so different from eachother and yet so simular.
Jerry is just a regular guy who lives his life just like any other teenage kids but Archie is a diffrent kind of ki. He is more the type who want power and like being at the top with the power over life and death (its just a figure of speech).
The book is well written but the story-line is a cliché and the conflicts are not so special.
so I felt like I already read the story in antoher book. The book is written like it was a god who knows already about the ending and is retelling the history to us like an all-knowing storyteller..
Its a good book and fine if you want to train your english reading but i didnt find the book interesting nor exiting so i can't recomend the book. I really feel like the book doesn't stick out and because of that i feel like i cant give any good critics about the book. But its only my opinion so i doesn't mean you dont have to read it, im just sayng its a waste of time.
